Simon P. Henningsen (1920–1974), son of influential and polyvalent architect Poul Henningsen (1894–1967), grew up watching the development and deployment of his father's revolutionary lighting designs. Speaking of some of his own lighting, Henningsen has said that they were less scientifically composed than his father's designs, relying much more on the organic forms of nature. The Divan 2 is perhaps his most celebrated lamp.
