Postmodern "Paradise" stand clock for desk or table by Shohei Mihara for Wakita, the line Super Present. Made in Japan in the 1980s.
Bright colors with geometric shapes reflect this clock's joyful and unexpected design. Geometric elements in red, blue, yellow, green and purple, this clock is bold and unconventional in both color and shape. Instead of classic numerals, the bright yellow round clock face has graphic designs to mark each hour, like Postmodern hieroglyphics, with nine o’clock and three o’clock resembling their numbers. The purple frame is detached, floating above the rest. The second hand turns in a spiral shape, the minute hand is a triangle. Entrancing to watch in movement, this desk clock removes us from time, mesmerizing us with it, all while serving it’s function to display it.
