GAE AULENTI (born in Italy, 1927-2012) was an Italian architect and designer. She graduated from the Milan Polytechnic in 1954 before joining the editorial staff of Casabella. She was a representative member of the Neo-Liberty Architectural Movement, and designed for Knoll, Guzzini, Poltronova, Zanotta, Martinelli Luce, Olivetti and Fiat. Her most iconic architecture work is the renovation of the Muse´e D’Orsay in Paris in 1986. Aulenti frequently collaborated with Piero Castigioni on architectural and industrial design projects.
IGUZZINI was an Italian lighting company founded in 1959 as Harvey Creazioni by the sons of Mariano Guzzini. The company started to produce enameled copper artistic objects. The name was inspired by Harvey the giant rabbit, imaginary friend of James Stewart in the famous 1950s film. The company soon specialized in plastic products, producing internationally awarded designs by legendary designers like Gio Ponti, Bruno Gecchelin, Michel de Lucchi, Ron Arad, Rodolfo Bonetto, Gae Aulenti, Piero Castiglioni and Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
