Pink Flamingo, 1980s Lacquered Jewelry Box by Hollis Fingold, Signed USA

Regular price$600.00 Sale price
Pink Flamingo Lacquered box handmade in the 1980s by Hollis Fingold at Radar Design in Denver, Colorado. Airbrushed paint on wood. Signed. Depth: 4.5", Width: 4.75", Height: 7".

The light pink body of the box is airbrushed with cow-like black spots and small, sporadic splatters. The feet and handle have a Matrix green grid pattern over a deep black background, giving the box a futuristic, tech-inspired energy. A distinctly tropical robot vibe.

The element of surprise continues to unfold with the interior padding, which has vibrant sky-blue fabric covered with meticulously hand-drawn black splatters. This design is complemented by a neon pink zig-zag pattern that crosses the square padding diagonally. The bottom of the box has an electric turquoise-blue/green glow.

Shaped like alien pets, Hollis Fingold's boxes appear to hover on their four pointy legs, with lid handles resembling punk hairdos. They are sensuous yet dangerous creatures that one must adore to tame and open.
